[2015] Taiwan Days 14-24
This first half of this covers the Modern Toilet Restaurant in Ximending and a cute food place. The second half covers Huashan Creative Park, Dazzling Cafe, and Yang Ming Shan!
I learned about Modern Toilet after seeing pictures of it online, so I thought this was a place I should definitely check out! One of my cousins took me, and she had never gone before either. The concept of the restaurant seemed so bizarre, so that's why I wanted to go :)
The entrance:
Basically the whole restaurant is toilet-themed. That includes the decor, the food, and even the sink where you wash your hands!
Our table was glass and you could see a little plastic poop underneath o_O
My royal throne:
This was my dinner. It was weird and cute, but I loved it! I thought the food quality was all right.
Dessert???
It was an awesome experience but I don't think I'd go back again unless I was taking a friend. It's kind of a one-time experience thing :)
Mini Ximending haul:
A day or two later, we went to a mall (Att4Fun) and went up a few floors to a food place. Immediately, I was surprised at how cute everything was! I'm not sure how to describe the place, but the entire floor was food-related. It's kind of like a colossal food court, and you can walk around and pick any place you want to eat at.
We decided to eat this seat:
After dinner, we got some dessert! It was my first time eating something like this. It had ice cream and marshmallows, and the fish (which served as a cone) was delicious.
I also went to Taichung for a day (and ate at this restaurant!) but came back to Taipei shortly after.
A few days before we headed home, one of my cousins took me to Huashan Creative Park! This was one of my favorite places. There are tons of things to do and multiple exhibits to see. The exhibits keep changing, too! (they get replaced with different ones every few months, I believe)
It was the 60th anniversary of Miffy, so we went to a place that seemed like a Miffy museum. I took a ton of pictures here ^ _ ^
I was a bit sad when it seemed over...but then I realized there was a second floor!
The following room is my favorite. The lights go out for a bit and come back on again. If you wore white, it would glow in the dark!
With my cousin!
After that we saw a fish exhibit. It was like a small aquarium with only goldfish, but it was super cool!
A friend of mine back in California told me about Dazzling Cafe so I was really excited to go there!
It's well-known for its brick toast. I'm not really sure how to describe it, but I actually don't really like toast so I wasn't sure I'd like this. However, the way they baked it was pretty cool and it tasted great!
We used forks to pick up the stuff inside and dip it in caramel, ice cream, and honey.
Two days before departure, I went back to the cute food place (Att4Fun) from the first half of this post! But before that, a cousin took me to buy a cotton candy ice cream that she saw on Instagram. It's great for pictures but the taste is average.
Also, they put dry ice at the bottom (there's another cup inside the cup you see so the dry ice doesn't touch your food) so there's a smoky effect, but that stops after about thirty seconds.
Okay this is a coincidence but I took a small scoop out of the middle of the three flavors and it formed a heart!!
I went down a floor or two from the cute food place and after debating for about half an hour (literally), I bought this Instax Mini 8! I'm really happy with the purchase but I'm not looking forward to buying the film haha...I bought a box (and one came with the camera for free) because it was cheaper in Taipei.
And I bought these two from the Miffy place ;u; I'll bring the water bottle to college for sure...and maybe the little bunny too.
(the bunny is so cute ahhh)
On the day before we left, I went to Yang Ming Shan with two of my cousins! It's a national park.
Great view!
This store was really cute! I bought some stuff for college ^^
Thank you for checking out this post! Hope you had fun with me on this adventure :) What other places would you like to see in Taiwan?
Have a wonderful day/night!
