A travel and photography blog.

On the sixth day, I went to the Miniatures Museum of Taiwan. I heard it about it online so I decided to visit ^^

[June 2015]

Many of the 2015 Taiwan photos were taken on my iPhone 5c and unedited.

I've been to SFO multiple times but never saw how awesome the architecture was until now!

tijuana

[July 2013 - 2015]

This covers my time with the Tijuana Ministry from St. Julie's! For one week in July three years in a row, I went with some volunteers to go to Tijuana. There were various programs. For instance, some people worked with the construction crew while others spent time with the local mothers, children, etc.

Each year we lived in a place known as "The Dome." It has two floors, housing anywhere from 70 to almost 100 volunteers each year.

In 2013, we visited Friendship Park. This place is practically at the border that divides the US and Mexico.

On the drive back, we passed by crosses like these. The photo doesn't do it justice; there were hundreds, if not thousands, of crosses. Someone on the trip told us that each one represented someone who died trying to cross the border in search of a better life.
We had different construction projects each year. This includes building many houses from scratch, extending a chapel, and building shells of houses.

House blessings happen after the houses are built. A priest (one of our volunteers) would bless the home and give the keys to the family. It was always very powerful to watch :)

I only spent half a day in construction. Most of my time these three weeks were spent in the Children's Program!

^ Taken by my friend Irene, who also went those three years.

There would be anywhere from 70 to over 200 kids attending these programs. We'd do arts and crafts with them and give them lunch. We stayed at the same site for the first year, but for the other two years, we went to a different site in the afternoon to spend time with even more kids :)

There were several rooms dedicated to the crafts, and each room had a different project each day.

Each year, these trips would open my eyes more and more to people around me. We went to do good for the people there, but they taught us a lot as well. The people there would always smile no matter what condition they were in. Some kids would give us the crafts that they made, and they would help their younger siblings with their projects.

Thanks for checking out this post :)

Do good!

Gambling isn't very appealing to me, but Las Vegas is beautiful!

[June 2013]

Shanghai is so beautiful! I wish I had taken more pictures.

taiwan

[June 2013]

This was my first time going to Taiwan (unless you count a brief time when I was two years old)!

[June 2012]
When I went on this trip, I was using a simple point and shoot camera (less than $100). I didn't have much interest in photography, but looking back, I think it sparked my love for photography!

My friends often associate me with sunsets. Sometimes I go to dinner with a camera in case I can capture a good photo. Other times, I chase sunsets. There's just something about them that are so beautiful to me ^_^

My posts about the trip:
London
Belgium, Amsterdam, Germany
Austria
Italy, Monte Carlo, Nice
France

Places we went:
London, Brussels, Amsterdam, Cologne, Frankfurt, Lucerne, Innsbruck, Vadus, Salzburg, Vienna, Graz, Venice, Florence, Rome, Lucca, Pisa, Monte Carlo, Nice, Avignon, Lyon, Paris.

Tour guide: 8/10

We went with Ritz Tours (more specifically, a Chinese branch/affiliate called Peony tours). Our guide was fairly nice and knew her stuff, but a lot of us felt like she could've dealt with some things better. When we couldn't fit everyone sitting down on the bus and some people had to stand, her apology seemed very insincere.

Bus Driver: 10/10

Excellent driving skills, wonderful person :)

[July 2nd - July 5th 2014]

This was the last (and I think best) portion of the trip! I was especially excited because I took French in high school, so I felt a small connection. I got to speak French on a few occasions and managed not to mess up too much...luckily the locals understood what I was saying!

[June 28th - July 1st 2014]

I'm excited to talk about Italy! It was amazing, and as with every place I've gone to, I regret not taking more photos.

The first place we went to was Venice.

[June 25th- June 27th 2014]

Austria was one of my favorite places to visit :) We went to Mirabell Gardens in Salzburg. If it look familiar, that's because the famous movie The Sound of Music was partly filmed here!

[June 21st - June 24th]

Belgium was beautiful, though we didn't stay long.

[June 16th - June 20th, 2014]

I went to Europe on a guided tour with my family and many strangers in the summer. We arrived a few days earlier so we stayed at a hotel for three days and ventured on our own before joining the group ^_^

[April 17th, 2015]

Hi there! I hope you're doing well :)

I went to San Francisco with some friends from our high school badminton team. It was pretty exciting and also exhausting towards the end, but it was an awesome experience!
